Assessments
The staff at Educational Directions, Inc. performs
a variety of assessments including psychoeducational and intellectual evaluations in order to ascertain
a student’s learning profile, as well as to determine if there
are learning disorders or “differences” that are hindering an
individual’s academic performance. We evaluate children and adults
of all ages from kindergarten through the post-graduate years.
These evaluations include cognitive testing that covers memory,
visual-spatial skills, visual-motor skills, verbal responses,
and organization. The educational testing centers on the basics:
reading, writing, math, and vocabulary. We evaluate for math,
reading, written languages, and organizational disorders. Each
of the tests we use is valid and reliable, and is normed across
age and grade. That means that the tests we use are widely accepted
as accurate, and the final results of an individual’s performance
are based upon comparison with similar age and grade peers.
